My Most Used Products of January!
Welcome to my blog, lovelies!
So January is always such a long, boring month. I've been going to college and wasn't looking forward to January but this one wasn't too bad because we had 3 fridays off in a row and a couple of days where we only had to go for half the day. Also, the weather hasn't been too bad other than some extremely cold days. Basically I spent a lot of January watching Breaking Bad, reading books, and drinking tea.
Some kick-ass stuff that happened this month:
I met up with a friend I haven't seen in a long time and we went for supper/drinks
I went out with a couple of my friends without my ID but they let me into the pub anyway, we also got hit on by a very drunk bald old man.
I got to see my cousin's baby a couple times and I adore him
I'm half way through aaaaand The Kite Runner and it's pretty good!
So without further ado, here are my most used products of January. I couldn't pick just 5 so I included 7. The candle isn't part of it I just thought it added light and a bit of ambiance. :)
Starting from the left,
- Hoola Bronzer by Benefit- I just discovered this actually last month, as I was getting bored of my makeup routine and look. I don't necessarily use it as a bronzer, mostly just for contouring my cheekbones, forehead, and sometimes jawline. I can't imagine not using this now, as I actually look like I have cheekbones now and it makes me look more alive. Looove it.
- Myth lipstick by MAC- In this picture I have it up the highest it can go, just to show you how much I use it. It's a really good everyday lipstick especially when you don't want that much attention drawn to you or when you want to look more natural but still wear a lipstick. To make it even more natural you can add a gloss so it's not as pale but I personally just wear it the way it is.
- Off Your Face cleansing cloths by Soap & Glory- Words cannot express how much I love this. I use it as a makeup remover and it gets off seriously everything. It even does a better job than olive oil and water. I don't wake up with mascara smudged under my eyes like other makeup removers did. From the package it says that it is formulated with a mix of skin-softening glycerin, a quick cleansing agent, and Poreshrink-RS. It also exfoliates to remove not only dirt, oil and makeup but dead skin cells and it smells so clean. I definitely recommend these.
- Banana Dream Pie by DavidsTea- This is part of the winter collection from Davids Tea which I also have, but I actually ended up buying this for my family for Christmas. It tastes like dessert (obviously). The ingredients are: black tea, cocoa nibs, banana pieces, white chocolate and cocoa powder. I find it good for stressful days as it's a good comforting tea, and also when the weather is bad or cold outside.
- Primer Potion by Urban Decay in Eden- So I never used to be much of an eyeshadow girl, at all. So when I started wearing eyeshadows I wouldn't wear any primer, just concealer and powder underneath and I'd go to school. This didn't work, especially when the weather was warmer. I'd come home and my eyeshadow would be so ugly and creasy, it looked like I had no idea how to put eyeshadow on. Half of it wasn't even on anymore. I didn't want to give in and buy a primer, because a lot of them were so expensive. So I tried to use the NYX jumbo pencil in cottage cheese underneath because I heard that acted like a primer somewhat. It still didn't work. So I gave in and wound up at Sephora. I figured if I was going to invest in a primer, it might as well be a good one. And I think this is like, the God of all primers.
- Carmex lip balm (the one in the squeezy tube)- I got this on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart for I think maybe less than $2 and it is freaking amazing. I remember reading something online about Selena Gomez loving this lip balm, and I can see why. I used to use softlips and it would rub off like an hour later. I can put this on before bed and wake up with moisturized lips. It is amazing for winter when everything is gross and dry. I can't stand when my lips are dry and chapped so I need to have something on them at all times whether it be lipstick, lip gloss or this lip balm. When you put this on, it will give you instant relief of dry lips.
- Total Coverage Cream Foundation by Cover FX- I don't use this as a foundation because it is really full coverage, but as a concealer it seriously covers up aaany dark circles or blemishes. Apparently it can cover post-surgical bruising and tattoos and is water-resistant so that is always a bonus. It is very expensive but definitely worth it. Who wouldn't want to look flawless?
Hope all of you had a lovely January! What were your most used products of the month?
